Ever notice in the last 2 years of baseball there have been a tremendous amount of japanese/chinese players playing in the league?

Chan Ho Park, Kazuhiro Sasaki, and Ichiro Suzuki to name a few..

Well, there really haven't been that many and Park has been here for quite a bit of time now. I also believe Park is from Korea. But I may be wrong.

Suzuki, the Mets guy, Irabu, Sasaki... who else?

Anyway, if they are good enough, I think that they should play.

Yes, Chan Ho Park is Korean and he's been in since I think almost as long as Nomo. We forgot Masato Yoshi. Also the Mets had a Japanese middle reliever a few years ago but I forgot his name.

I know Seattle also have a young Korean guy by the name of Shin-Soo Choo playing down in the Arizona League for the Peoria Mariners. Apparently he is quite outstanding, and pitches just as well as he hits, though he's only a small guy so they're probably going to groom him as a lead off hitter/base-stealer in the Ichiro mould.

Well, any time to Yankees have taken a risk on a player that is Korean or Japenese, etc. it has been a bust. Hideki Irabu and Kats Maeda are the ones that come to mind there.

Most of them seem to start out well and then die down....

If a Mariner were to win the MVP award I think that Bret Boone would be the one to get it.

I went over to Yahoo! Sports and did some research.

PLAYER AVG G AB R H TB 2B 3B HR RBI BB SO
------ --- - -- - - -- -- -- -- --- -- --

I Suzuki .341 88 396 78 135 184 20 7 5 42 18 24
B Boone .325 89 351 67 114 203 19 2 22 84 24 59

I would say Boone is a tad more impressive right now.
