In my opinion, nope, soccer is not that popular in North America. America now prefers basketball and football. If soccer is famous in America, they should have an american soccer team by now.

well we have the MLS but its our own american version of soccer and its trying to bring popularity to soccer

Personally, No. The only time you ever see soccer is on the 100 channels with dish and time warner. We live on baseball, football, and basketball although I hate the NBA. It's to much one man teamed.

Its actually getting a lot more popular. Give it a few more years. I predict record numbers watching the world cup from the US this year if the US team makes it to the first round of the bracket.

| Living in LA and with a strong Hispanic culture, the sport still struggles to compete with entities like the Lakers, Dodgers, and others. I think the sport needs an inventive marketing strategy in alluring its brand. |

I should have specified that I predict a record number of TV ratings for Americans watching the World Cup in 2010. I was aware that the cup wasn't being played this year but I was temporarily a moron.
