How was everyone's day today?

My day sucked. I got a jury duty notice in the mail.

Well, I have not been feeling well again... besides that, my days are usually pretty good.

I wouldn't mind jury duty. Whats so bad about it?

Today is going to be really bad for me, actually. I just finished 2 anthropology papers that are due in, about, 45 minutes. I am going on, maybe, 3 hours of sleep right now as a result. And I have a calculus test in about 5 hours, which means I have an entire chapter of calculus homework and studying to do in about 3 hours between classes. I should be doing it right now, but I figured I deserved a break

I had jury duty several months ago. I was lucky that I was not called onto any juries and got to go home at, like, 1:00. It is just a lot of boring sitting around and doing nothing --- NOTHING!!!

And the courthouse is so far from where I live. Like a 45 minute drive and traffic on the freeway. Plus, I don't think they compensate you enough for being on a jury. They don't pay you enough while taking all these hours out of your day, everyday if you get picked. Geez I hope I don't get picked.

Well, I once got a jury duty notice in the mail, showed up, and got selected!!!!

Man, did that suck! They were estimating an afternoon trial. Well, it took us 4 days! One person was holding us back. They made me miss a concert! Ahhh! I made some money, but no where close to being adequate compensation...

Oh, today? My day sucked. Been fighting a cold and sickness all week. It just seemed to be worse today. Ech...

What was the trial about? Was it anything big?

I've been sick for the past week. I'm going to a doctor tomorrow. I've had a sore throat since last Wednesday.

Man everyones sick! I haven't really been feeling 100% myself. Everyone needs to get better!!!

I dont know about where you guys live, but out here they changed it such that you only get paid if you are there more than one day. So, since I didnt get on a jury, I didnt get a dime -- I did get a free bus pass though . And even if you do get paid, it is rediculous how little they pay you. Its not even worth it.

The trial was a rape case. I think they assumed there was enough evidence to convict the guy, but most of us thought the evidence was flawed and didn't prove the guy's guilt. (Innocent until proven guilty!) Anyway, everyone was convinced but one or two...guess who?...women... So, we were stuck trying to convince them. Plus, the guy decided to defend himself, so he didn't know what the heck he was doing and it took even longer...

Yeah I live in California also, defska. You don't get paid unless you're actually picked.

So if you show up that first day and don't get picked (which I wouldn't mind), you don't even get any gas money.
