I'm from Europe, and we love football (soccer for you guys). That's why every 4 years we're going crazy about the World Cup. And just because we feel 4 years of waiting is just too long, we added the Euro championship every 4 years, so that every 2 years we get either an Euro or a World Cup.
USA is playing this year in South Africa, what do you think of it? I know americans are mostly into american football and baseball, but what's your view on soccer? Will you be watching the competition? Are you familiar with the European squads? |

Speaking only for myself, I won't be watching the matches. Except for maybe the end of a championship match if the U.S. is involved. I did the same thing with hockey in the Winter Olympics. I just don't have an interest in watching hockey or soccer, just not my personal preference.
I'm not familiar with the European squads... heck, I'm not even familiar with the U.S. squad! Heh. But, I do feel a sense of pride in my country and when we win something, of course I'm happy.
I wouldn't be surprised if that was the general perspective of people in many countries who may like a sport other than the one that is currently being played, etc.

| I guess you guys have a lot more going on than soccer. Hell, I've watched some Superbowls myself. Europeans like to stick to one sport only... |
