Let's Go Mets! Mets take a 3rd straight game from the Giants tonight to keep them only 1 game up in the Wild Card race and push them 3 and 1/2 games back of the Arizona Diamondbacks in the National League West race.
Too bad my Dodgers couldn't capitalize, but you take what you can get.
Hopefully the Mets will complete the sweep of them in this 4-game series tomorrow.
Interesting stat here: For as great a homerun hitter as Barry Bonds has been and especially this year, he hasn't homered at Shea Stadium since May of 1995. |

Well Bonds finally hit a homer at Shea Stadium yesterday, the first time in 5 years. And the Giants finally beat the Mets. I tell you, it's a good thing the Giants don't have to play the Mets in the playoffs again this year or they'd be toast. They almost lost yesterday afternoon and got swept by the Giants.

I wonder what happened to Edgardo Alfonso this year. I always liked him. He had a great year last year. And I always thought he was one of the most underrated players in the league. I mean before this year, here's a guy who's a good hitter, a clutch hitter and a good fielder. He's even a reasonable power hitter. He had 25 jacks last year and 27 jacks in 1999. |

The Mets are at .500 for the first time since April. Who can feel the excitement? Only 6 back!

| That would be a miracle if the Mets got in, especially now since the St. Louis Cardinals are hot. |

That would be pretty cool. As long as there's not another subway series.
Indians are doing good...magic number of about 11 or 12. Mariners could clinch it tonight. |

C'mon, Mets are 5 back and get to play the Braves 6 more times.. They're playing .800 ball in the past 25 games.

3-2, Mets win game 1 of 3.... Good way to open up at home. Four and a half back!
