Yeah, good for you.

According to this:

http://esportssection.ifroggy.com/articles/staff1.php

No eSportsSection writers pick the Padres to be 1st. In fact, everyone picked them last. LOL

Yeh, but it's been a weird few weeks. Most of us would probably have put the Padres last by the end of May too. And who would have predicted the Twins and Philly beating up on everyone, and the Mets and Rangers rock bottom? But I like it...it makes for an interesting summer instead of the same old teams slugging it out at the top.

yeah, everyone put the padres in last...and until 3 days ago they were but it has been an interesting few weeks of baseball

im very glad to see the teams noone thought would do anything (ahem..Minnesota) do well this season...the only thing that would make this season better would be to see the Yankees collapse (sorry Pat) but im so sick of seein them win

The Yankees won sure, but they both struck out 12 batters and gave up 6 hits with about the same ration of strikes to balls...so you can hardly say he outpitched him! Anyway, let's see which of them ends up with the Cy Young and an ERA under 2.00 by the end of the season ...yeh, I know what you're going to say next Patrick..."lets see who ends up in the World Series"! Well actually my money at the moment would certainly on the Mariners v Cardinals, (though the National League looks so weak again this year, I don't think it matters who wins the NL Pennant).
Cheers

Actually Scooby, he did.

The main things: he got those 12 k's in 1 less inning, he walked 3 less batters, he allowed one fewer run and he got the win.

I'd call that outpitching.

I want to see my Mets get the Wild Card. They're actually not doing so bad now.

I think the other 4 teams have a lot better chance to make it because San Diego keeps going on losing streaks. If they stayed winning consistently, I would change my mind.

You certainly can't write off the Padres just yet! Though they do need to start putting a few winning streaks together.

I think they're only about 9 or 10 games back of the Diamondbacks when I last checked? I remember around this time last year the Giants were around 6 or 7 games behind the Diamondbacks, but the Giants still ended up winning the division by a clear 11 games! So anything can still happen in that division. This is why I like the wild-card...it keeps a lot of other teams interested even if there is one runaway leader. Look at the AL West...with the Mariners so far ahead, the season would be over already for those guys...but with the wildcard, there's still everything to play for...well, except for the Rangers maybe!!
