It`s been a part of the game for so long , but , on the other hand , players are getting seriously injured. So....i`m on the fence for this topic!

this is a good debate...........coz i wanna say do it, but at the same time your right its been a part of hockey for god who knows how long

i say keep it but if the fights go beyond a certain time like 3-4 min. or somethin like that, break it up quick

no way! yea people are getting hurt but like you guys said, fighting has always been part of the game and players have always been getting hurt. it's part of the game. if fighting is banned i think we will start seeing much more incidents like the one that happened with corey simon, fighting allows players to fairly take out those frustrations. i mean if they're are worried that too many players are getting hurt than i think league officials should realize that the sport is played on hard ice, with a hard puck, with the players wielding wooden sticks, not exactly a powderpuff sport

I understand your points. However, football is not a powderpuff sport either, and fighting is not tolerated at all. I think that the game can be played without fighting. The statement can be made that the sport polices itself with the fights, however, it is the only sport that tolerates it.

that's exactly my point, hockey allows fighting for a reason and is part of the game. just because other contact sports don't allow it doesn't mean it's wrong

Here's my question: Do you want to go watch a good hockey game, or do you want to go to see a fight break out?

I just don't think that fighting adds that much to the game. Just my thoughts, though.

obviously it doesn't add to the skill and gameplay but not every game has a fight, and if it does, there is only one or two. i don't mind seeing a fight or two break out, it's not taking up game time, i still get to see the actual game. i could understand your point if there was a fight every 2 minutes, that would get old, but one or two doesn't bother me.

It's silly that 2 fighting and all just look at them, you come to see game not fight.
