Carson Palmer, deserves the trophy just as much as the other 4 candidates, but i thought that the vote totals weren't as close as they should of been. I personally thought Brad banks was going to win it! I also thought
that Larry Johnson, Ken Dorsey, and Wille Maghee deserved more votes than what they recieved. I know Maghee is a sophmore, but look at his stats for a guy who wasn't named the starter this year. Come on he's faster than Clinton Portis! Ken Dorsey, 38- 1 as a starter , he's a winner and holds all passing records in Miami. Larry Johnson, besides 3 games against top rank teams, which held him to 70 yards and the fact that Penn State isn't a great team. Rushing for over 2,000 yards , is not an easy accomplishment in the Big Ten. Then there is Brad Banks, His numbers weren't as good as Palmers, but he put Iowa on the map this year. I congradulate Carson Palmer on winning this prestige award. I just thought that the voting by the sports writers , should have been closer tthan it was. Clearly there was no loser in that group of players. So tell me what you think? |

I think the Heisman is nothing but bad luck. Look at Dayne, Weinke, and Crouch _________________ -Wedge231 |

Who was the last Heisman winner to turn out good though? It's been quite some years. _________________ -Wedge231 |

Did you see this week's ESPN power rankings? For the Bengals it says: "One sure way to continue the Heismann Jinx. Have the Bengals draft him." _________________ -Wedge231 |

Yea, I don't see too much pro potential in Palmer. The most painful thing about the Heisman selection was that he would have been 6th on my ballot. He had some big numbers, but with a lot of worthy candidates, it really should have come down to the best player and not the flavor of the week. _________________ [url=http://www.damntheyankees.com/]
