Rick Carlisle of the Detroit Pistons got fired tonight.
I'm kind of surprised about that. |

Joe dumars is one of the best general managers in the league if not the best. Joe thinks he can get Larry Brown, who is prolly a better coach, and he probably will. _________________ My teams

| I would probably $hit my pants laughing if Rick coaches a team that beats the Pistons in the playoffs sometime in the future. Your job is on the line now, Joe! You sealed your fate with this decision. |

Slilas is with Clevland. I thought Van Gundy had this one locked. I guess Clevland management didnt like the fact that Van Gundy wouldnt guarantee James playing time. Oh well........ _________________ JustBBall: Die-Hard Basketball Fans Only! |

you couldnt be more wrong with that comment. Joe is a hall of fame GM look at the team he has built in his years. I would say with the players he has brought in he is most definently more responsible for the pistons succes than carlisle. Plus Larry Brown is a better coach anyway. _________________ My teams

| Joe knows basketball, but Joe is new to management. His firing of Rick was really by order of the owner. Probably because Rick didn't play the rookies enough. And what players are you talking about? They're pretty much average players that Rick somehow got to play good ball for the past two seasons. If the Pistons don't win the Finals within the next two or three years it will all be because of this change. Luckily for Larry, he will be getting an already well coached team with a young center from the draft. Larry would be even happier coming to Detroit if they still had Jerry Stackhouse, which they traded off last year. Another brilliant move, Joe. |

Check the stats Rip hamilton had a better year than Jerry fight with Jordan Stackhouse
what about Joe's move to get the #2 pick in the draft for practically nuthing this year. They were a 50 win team that gave up nuthing for a high lottery pick. Great Move joe _________________ My teams

By what? A few points per game? Wizards and Pistons are like apples and oranges.
The trade of mediocre players was made before the Pistons even had their 50 wins in 2001. Toronto was just desparate enough to throw in a high draft pick. |
