What is the best defensive play you have seen all season?

We all say Torii Hunter's great all-star game catch which was simpy amazing, but what has been your favorite defensive play all season.

Mine, honestly, is a play that I bet noone here saw because it was a Padre that performed it, but was honestly one of the best defensive plays I have ever seen. Our second baseman (I wish I could remember who it was at the time, it was one of three people and I think it was Ramon Vazquez) ran towards the outfield, back to the infield on a bloop ball. In shallow right center he dove straight backwards and made a Willie Mays-esque basket catch to end the inning. We all saw the unbelievable catch the Jim Edmonds made a few years ago, this catch was almost identically like that.

This season... not sure.

My 3 favorite defensive plays were all made by D. Jeter:

Last years playoffs, makes catch on run of errant throw, back hands ball to Posada - that is the playoffs there, in my opinion. One play. If Jeremy Giambi isn't out - we don't advance.

Last year as well, Jeter goes back into the stands, makes this amazing backhand catch on a ball that he probably should have never gotten.

Finally, the World Series a few years ago, ground ball in the hole between 3rd and short, he backhands the ball, leaps in the air and fires it over to Tino to get the out.

Jeter had some great plays when I've seen him play in the World Series every year

I remember a few from the 2000 one against the Mets specifically.

Rey Ordonez has had some nice plays this year. But I guess I'm used to those by now.

i think the greatest catch this year was when i think the tiger first baseman (not sure of that) sort of dived into the stands to catch a ball. i think it was just a couple of days ago. if u watched sportscenter the following day, it said he dived into mustard or sumthing...o well
