Ottavio Cinquanta, head of the International Skating Union, said judge Marie-Reine Le Gougne of France told the ISU she was under "a certain pressure" to vote for the Russians, leaving the Canadians with silver.
When asked after a news conference whether the pressure came from the French federation, Cinquanta replied, "This is the allegation."
Le Gougne was suspended indefinitely and has signed a statement about how she reached her vote, Cinquanta said. There was no evidence of Russian involvement, he added, without giving further details about Le Gougne's motivation.
"This pressure resulted in putting this judge in a condition not to give the gold medal" to the Canadians, Cinquanta said. "We have declared misconduct." |
ok...

"This is the allegation"
if admit i killed someone, does that mean i killed someone?!
until there's proof that she was influenced i will not believe this whole garbage
at the press conference cinquante or what's his name, and the ioc president declined to outline exactly what the judge has done
they just simply said 'there's evidence to suggest', and then said 'this is as much information as i can give you' |

give me a break...
the IOC would not have reawarded Olympic medals unless there was circumstantial proof to make it happen. I dont think you realize the seriousness of what the IOC has done here, it is not something that they would have done lightly. |

i don't think any north american realizes the seriousness
now canadians can forget about finishing 1st for the next couple of olympics,
the judges will not forget that one of theirs was treated the way the french judge was
in a few months they will have the world figure skating championships in europe somewhere - canada can forget about finishing 1st, the judges will never let this go
same is happening with the ice dancing competition right now,
bournie and kraatz are already destined to finish 4th, no matter how good they skate
just watch |

it has exactly to do with the fact that it was not a fair decision
i fail to see how awarding 2 goald medals 2 teams, while leaving 2nd space blank and keeping china in 3rd, is considered a fair decision |

uh oh, the french judge changed her story AGAIN,
now she says since 2000 she was pressured by ISU in favour of the CANADIAN pair
uh oh!! not only have russians been discriminated against by the ISU then, but they also managed to win the gold medal
tricky tricky |
