this one is for defska. what the hell happened to the Chargers? where has their running game gone? where are flutie's majic comebacks? where is Seau's electricity? they were looking great coming out of the gate. now they are faultering as usual. Spanos is notorious for hiring guys that can't seem to fit the mold of a good football coach. Usually you can use the excuse that they traded their whole draft day away. But they had a great draft this year! In my opinion, they had a couple great games, but now are in the rebuilding process that they are supposed to be in. Next year should be a lot better, especially if they can get a better deep threat for Flutie and the guy from Purdue!

Send Brees in there!
I just want to see him play - my uncle works at Purdue...

Well, be nice.

I believe that defska will agree with you. The chargers are rebuilding, and have a good start in Brees and Tomlinson.

I agree. I think Brees is going to be a great QB in the league one day. He's gotten a little playing time backing up Flutie to help in get eased into the system. Tomlinson looked great the first few weeks, but without offensive balance, he is faltering a little.

the Chargers are definitely in a rebuilding process, and we have been all year, its just that with our 5-2 start, everyone forgot that. after all the money spent in the off season, we didn't have the money left to address our offensive line, or add depth in our secondary.

the running game disappearing is a tough question, and the most obvious answer is that the chargers have been abandoning it late in the game, which just leads to more questions since L.T. has proved to be much better in the second half. also, our O-Line, which earlier in the year by far exceeded expectations, has been playing more like they were supposed to play (which is bad).

im not sure if you can question seau's electricity though. he was injured for a few weeks, which meant he wasnt playing 100%, but the electricity was always there.

to me, the greatest reason why we got in the slump we are in, is injuries, followed by our kicking game. im not going to even begin down our injury list, but it was big and included many star players.

mike riley will not be here next season. everyone loves the guy, but hes not really the kind of head coach we are looking for. in the off season, we will address the O-Line, add depth in the secondary, and i believe (like you) that we need another wide reciever. conway and graham have played horrible in my opinion.

and pat you are right, we look forward to a solid future with brees and LT. but for now, flutie is the man, and believe me, he is out of his slump.

...sorry for the long post, i like talking bout my chargers

that one catch was great, i think it has ESPY written all over it

but graham and conway both have been dropping passes that did nothing more then help prolong flutie's slump. if they cant catch the ball, im not sure how anyone can expect flutie magic to work.

Ha, well, Brees will play a lot more, in a year or two. There are no plans for him to play this year.
