I am not sure how plausible an idea it is, but here is an idea: Make the draft offline, on these boards. When it is the person's turn to draft, he has 24 hours to make his next pick, if he doesn't make the pick, the highest rated available player is automatically given to that person. If the person misses one pick, the next time he only has 12 hours, then 6, until he makes his pick (to speed the draft up a bit).
This could feasibly take 2-3 weeks to complete, but it could also be done very very quickly if everyone makes their picks.
OR, since this is probably a bit too complicated to accomplish. We could do an offline draft on, like, AIM or YIM or something. This way, we would be able to pick a time that everyone would be available and wouldnt have to work around the available time slots at Yahoo! Plus, it would give us the option to trade picks, etc.
This way could feasibly take a few hours online, so again, it may be impossible to accomplish, but Im just throwing out ideas to spice things up a bit cause I dont like the way Yahoo! does the drafts.

Its not a bad idea, but if we did it that way, it would only be the 4 of us main posters doing it actively. I think that for now, the Yahoo! draft is the way we are going to go.

as for the draft time, like i said, i have no idea if i can make that. i just started a new job, and i dont know my schedule at this time, ill let you know if i can make it as the date approaches

I'll be working so I don't think I can make the draft.
However, I missed the baseball draft for this site and that worked out fine for me
