What's everyone's favorite Baseball moment?
I'm a Dodger fan so mine was when Kirk Gibson limped to the plate and hit a pinch-hit 2-run homer in the Bottom of the 9th in Game 1 of the 1988 World Series off Oakland Athletics' ace closer Dennis Eckersley for the come from behind victory over the A's. I remember the Dodgers had to overcome Jose Canseco's grand slam in that game too and the ball was hit so hard it dented N.B.C.'s centerfield camera.
After that momentum starter, Orel Hershiser continued his great year by dominating in Games 2 and 5 in carrying us to the World Series title when everybody said the A's would sweep us.

if this was favorite football moment i could tell u in a heartbeat but i dunno bout baseball...
i guess it would be game 4 of the 98 world series when the yankees completed the sweep against my padres. i choose this only because i was there sitting in the left field stands rooting for my padres. i remember that entire day, it was an amazing day. if my memory serves the last out of the game was a groundball to the shortstop possibly by caminiti. i remember staying in the stadium after the game as they blared Hells Bells (trevor hoffman's song) while the Padres came out for a curtain call and we all screamed. |

Well, I have many favorite moments, ones more favorite than the one I am about to say... but, this is the one that comes to mind and many have already forgotten it.
In last years World Series, I am not sure which game (possibly 1), Timo Perez was on base. One of the Mets made a hit to the OF, the OF threw into Jeter who was running toward the third base side, but was on the outfield grass, Jeter turns, makes this off balance throw - money throw, right to the plate, your out Timo. I loved that.

My favorite moment of all baseball time is.....
When Cecil Fielder stole his first base of his career. It place in 1996. I though it was pretty funny.
My friends and I used to joke about how we ran like Cecil when we ran the bases.
He also went on to steal another in the ame year.
WOW, 2 in a career.
But he also hit 391 homers in 9 full seasons.

I remember Joe Carter hitting that home run like it was yesterday.
It was a great time for baseball. I will never forget it. |

I've heard this one from you everytime Jeter or last year's World Series is brought up.
My favorite was in 1986 when Buckner gave us the World Series. Boston must really be cursed for something like that to happen.

I also like Robin Ventura's walkoff grandslam to keep the Mets alive in the 1999 NLCS against the Braves. Then Kenny Rogers blew it for us walking a batter with the bases loaded in game 6...
