The Dolphins have signed Jake Long, OT from Michigan, making him the #1 overall pick in the 2008 draft: http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/draft08/news/story?id=3358424
$57.75 million, with $30 million guaranteed. That is awesome. What do you think, Patrick? Oh, and thanks for taking the Chiefs pick, by the way! _________________ www.chiefswarpath.com |

I just can't imagine in OL going #1 in the draft, their have been some great OL men in the leauge that didn't get drafted #1 overall seems like a bit of a waste to me, but I guess they were worried about signing the #1 and they could get it done with this guy, Dolphins 5-11 this year, lets get real without a QB you wont get it done in the NFL _________________ The Nutmegger

If you can protect an average QB, then you will win some games. By signing Long, if they are getting a package like Orlando Pace, who I believe was the last OT taken #1, then they can anchor a line that can be built to run. _________________ www.chiefswarpath.com |

The NFL isn't a run leauge anymore, look at the pats and thier style of offense, that is the future. The best NY Giants RB of all time retired and look they one a superbowl, they need a QB in Miami to build around not an O-line men _________________ The Nutmegger

I am not so sure about that. The Pats were able to put this offense together because they had such a load of high caliber WR to play with. Who knew that Welker would have the season that he did, and that only helped Moss out. Look around the league, and you see still see the importance of the running game. Teams like Jacksonville, Minnesota, NY Giants, all going with the running back-by-committee. The spread offense is great in college, but I don't think it will take over in the NFL. _________________ www.chiefswarpath.com |
