I never tryed out for the golf team but all the kids do go to the same country club and live in the same general neighborhood. It's catholic school so we have kids from about 6 different townships. _________________ NFL:Eagles 5-0

i live in the western slope of Colorado. my town only has about 100.000 population, that's small cmpared to a place like Denver but golf is still big here. we have 6 courses and the country club isn't the best course here. just because its private or semi-private doesn't mean it is better or harder than any other. we have this course called Redlands Mesa, it's public and it's a beast to play there. at least 3 times harder than Bookcliff Country Club. _________________ Broncos, LSU, nuggets, avalanche |

Well you can't compare whats going on in Colorado to whats going on in Philadelphia. _________________ NFL:Eagles 5-0

The country club courses are managed better the greens and worked on everyday and not every Sunday (which makes putting hard on Fridays). Also our home games are played to the main golf course so these kids get a huge edge in try outs. _________________ NFL:Eagles 5-0

see are tryouts take place on several different golf courses so people who have an egde at the country club don't do as well on the courses like redlands mesa. _________________ Broncos, LSU, nuggets, avalanche |

Yep, ours did-- played during high school.
Our district was very strange for girls golf, though... a few schools had nothing but incredible players (one we played against had a girl who is on the LPGA now, Beth Bauer); others had nothing but girls who had seemingly never swung a club before they made the team.
Though I love to play, I'm not very good myself, but luckily with our school there wasn't much interest, so no tryouts... in addition to getting to play some of the nicest courses around here, we got to bail out of school early for our matches. |
