My birthday was last week and I want to look into buying a digital camera. Can anyone suggest anything that is less than $300? I don't really know what all the features are and what brands are good.

hmmm...you want it to be able to hold more than 8 pictures. seriously, we got one without realizing the memory capacity and ended up taking it back after it didnt suit our needs. and there is quite a few out there with such a small memory availability as well.
i wish i could remember more about when we were camera searching for my dad's b-day, it was a while ago. if you want i can check which one we ended up getting and try to give you the specs on that, from what i recall it was fairly cheap and is a surprisingly good camera. |

Wedge, might I suggest this:
Olympus Camedia D-510, currently running at $284.99 @ Amazon. I have an Olympus digital camera, though not as good as that one, and I love it.
