Hey, how about those Mavericks? Winning streak reaches 10. Hottest team in the N.B.A. and #1 in espn.com's power rankings.
To be honest, I still don't know about this team though. I still think what's going to hurt this team in the playoffs is the same thing that could hurt Minnesota and could hurt Phoenix and that is the Mavericks don't have a dominate low post scorer. You're going to need that in the playoffs when a lot of teams slow it down and go to a half court offense, especially when playoff teams are more likely to do this in close games in the 4th Quarter.
I mean I know the Mavericks have Dirk Nowitski at the 4 and he's improved his post moves but he's much better at facing the basket in the triple threat position than he is at backing guys down and playing with his back to the basket. |

Yeah that reminds me remember, I think it was last season, when Nellie tried the "Hack-A-Shaq" philosophy during the late part of a Dallas-Lakers' game? Shaq then called Nellie a "clown" to the press after the game for doing that.
Then before the next game between the Mavericks and Lakers at Dallas, Nellie came out and put a clown nose over his own nose and hugged Shaq.  |
