Greetings --

At another golf bulletin board, there was a discussion about who can and who can't qualify for the Masters. I was inspired to track down the invitational criteria for each of the four GRAND SLAM majors as well as the Players Championship and post such information on that board. I offer that same information for this board.

Compare the invitational criteria of each of the events below, then decide which are the most open and which are not.

Masters Tournament

U.S. Open

British Open Championship

PGA Championship

Players Championship

One other thought - Most tournaments are "open" - IE, the qualifiers can come from just about anywhere.

But, if you stop and think about it, all tournaments are invitationals. It's just that each event has its own invitation standards.

I don't see a tournament for people like me. Please search for something that allows: drivers to be broken over the ball washer, foul language, ample beer drinking, farting on the tee box, and the occasional foot wedge.

Greetings --

Hmmm! That's a Toughie! Regret I can't find such an event!

But you're more than welcome to organize one on your own. Don't forget the pizza, pretzels and Coors Light!

Already on a league that has an "end of the season" tournament like that. Except we don't drink Coors Light.
