Quote:

Wayne Chrebet, who did not take part in last weekend's minicamp because of shoulder surgery performed in March, spoke with the media about the fact he is about to play the final year of a contract set to pay him $4.5 million in 2002. ''A long-term deal pretty much would be my last one and it would be nice to finish where I started and hopefully end up being in a Super Bowl or two here. Not many people get a chance to play their entire career with one team and it would be nice if that could happen.''

I imagine that Wedge wants them to resign Chrebet?

I hope they do but you never know considering Paul Hackett runs the offense...

Well, considering all he has done with the Jets they should sign him. He is a fan favorite.

If they give Vinny that type of deal, Chrebet deserves it.

Chrebet was a walk on at Hofstra and on the Jets team.

The coaches were so impressed with him and his determination that they gave him a spot on the team. (of course those were different coaches)

In my opinion Chrebet is one of the best ever. Look at his stats. He is not all to fast, doesnt have the best hands, and is not the prototypical size for a reciever. Ya know he gets the job done though. Corners still forget about him because they do not think he is a threat.

Chrebet in my opinion deserves a contract that puts him up there with the elite recievers.

He's been really great in my mind but he wasn't too involved last year. I hope they resign him for a few more years. He's probably my 2nd favorite Jet.
