this isnt a surprise, really, but i was still hoping it wasnt going to happen. Mike Riley is a great guy and a great head coach and I dont feel he was given a fair chance to prove what he is made of. Whatever team (college or pro) that ends up with him is extremely lucky...I wish him the best in the future.
Now...who knows who the Chargers will pick up as their head coach. Talk of Norv Turner being made head coach is still floating around (which would suck). Ive also heard talk of Marv Levy coming to town, which would complete the Buffalo to San Diego transition hehe . Whoever it is, he better be ready to coach this team to the playoffs next year. |

| Ive heard good and bad of Levy, Im not sure how I feel about him. He did take the Bills to the Super Bowl, a lot, and lost, a lot. A Super Bowl loss for us would be a Godsend. |

| what about '96? that was a godsend followed by more years of tanking. just like atlanta in '98. the problem isn't the chargers coaches; it's the ownership. why do you think it doesn't matter who they bring in to coach? |

| the problem has been our GM, trading away the number one picks year after year after year, having horrible drafts as a result, and not being aggressive on the market. John Butler has been and will be the answer to our problems, no matter who we bring in to coach. |
