With 2 homeruns on opening day, Bonds is on pace to shatter his record 73 homeruns.

Well, he quite obviously won't be anywhere near 324, but, does anyone think he has a chance of hitting 74?

Id like to think not. But, I didnt think he could do it last season.

I was gonna make this same post when I came on this morning, you beat me.

I like seeing Bonds have it. One of the best all around players in the history of the game, one of the most consistent players ever. Plus, he's a decent guy. I like him myself.

I'd also like seeing Derek Jeter have it.

I like Bonds. I feel he's the best overall player of the 90's. He won a few MVP awards and can hit for average, power, and steal bases. Too bad not many people like him.

ive heard the same things as nick. but, you really cant doubt his talent. hes got 2 more so far today in the 7th, amazing, just amazing.

best overall player in the 90s, hmmm, thats tough. its hard to say bonds because he didnt really explode until last season, but he has been fairly consistent for years. id like to say sosa but he didnt break out till '98 which is kinda late to be the player of the '90s. maybe maddux? griffey?

Although I have heard the things that you guys have heard, I have heard them from either idiots (Jeff Kent) or the press and neither is a real reliable source.

I would also contend the case for Bonds or Griffey. Take a look at this:

http://www.baseball-reference.com/b/bondsba01.shtml

Bonds has played 100 games in every season in every year of his career. I feel that is extremely impressive in this day and age. Plus he has put up good stats throughout the 90s as well.

Griffey, also, very impressive in the 90s:

http://www.baseball-reference.com/g/griffke02.shtml

He also has been very durable. And like Bonds - they both play the game very solidly all the way around.

I feel a case could be made for either. Both are no doubt future HOFers in my opinion.
