| hes at, what, 575 or so now..approximately. so he would need 125 more. i think its possible...especially at the pace that he has been on. |

Well here's something that can stop Barry Bonds from getting to 700. Injury.
He hurt his hamstring today and is listed, I believe, as day-to-day. So I don't know how many games he's going to miss. |

Yeah. Of course all of this "speculation" that people make are assuming that the player will miss only a limited number of games due to injury, and that that injury does not affect the player's performance.
I good example of this (well, at least I believe will be a good example of this) is Ken Griffey Jr. He was supposed to break Hank Aaron's record. Period. The pace that this guy was hitting homers at as early a stage in his career as he was, it was almost a certainty. But, injuries have plagued him this season and last season, his production has been down even when he is playing, and I no longer think he will ever be the same again. |

I agree. Griffey and Frank Thomas used to be the top two power hitters in the game. Injuries hurt...

| Bonds looks quite slow and quite hurt. Watching him yesterday, hes not playing defense well at all and is hobbling around the bases. |
