I'll go with Ohio State and the place up north. No rivalry can compete when it comes to success. The Bucks have 7 national championships and unfortunately Michigan has won the most games of any division 1A football program (only 2 national titles though). Don't say it's mismatched because Michigan has a big overall lead in the series. The gap between wins came mostly before 1950. Since 1950, however, Michigan has only a one game advantage.

I know that Alabama and Auburn are both successful programs (especially Alabama) but they don't have 13 combined national titles. The tide have 7 but Auburn has only one or two.

well the question posed is which rivalry is the biggest, not "which team dominates a rivalry the most."

i'd have to say either UT/OU or FSU/UF, those two get pretty heated. but it is only b/c those are the two ive seen the most. all of those rivalries are pretty heated.

Sorry but, USC and Cal arent really rivals. It's USC and UCLA.

Anyways, UF/FSU have the best rivalry. Because at the end of the season their fighting for a bowl spot or something.

The Crimson Tide have 12 national championships...
1. 1925
2. 1926
3. 1930
4. 1934
5. 1941
6. 1961
7. 1964
8. 1965
9. 1973
10. 1978
11. 1979
12. 1992

with auburn winnin theirs in 1953 i believe...

now the tide shared some of these national championships... but were national champions nonetheless.

UF/UFS would be in my opinion the second greatest rivalry...

Alabama has 12 national titles. Auburn has 1. that's 13 combined.

I was referring to the current era (the media poll era) but if you're counting national titles before the current era then I'd tell you Yale has the most national titles in college football history and not Notre Dame.
