I agree the 2004 Trojans had a great offense, however best team ever has to go to the 2001 Hurricanes with their depth and both sides of the ball. Just look at the names and who went on to the NFL.
Willis McGahee, Najeh Davenport, Antrell Rolle, Andre Johnson, DJ Williams, Ed Reed, Sean Taylor, Clinton Portis, Frank Gore, Phillip Buchannan, Kellen Winslow, Jonathan Vilma, Roscoe Parrish... etc.
Hands down they take this. |

I totally agree. Thats like an NFL all-star team. They would crush any team playing today including my beloved Mountaineers. |

I don't know. I think you have to base it on performance, not talent. That's a whole different question.
What was the most talented college football team ever? Miami 2001, sure. No argument. But that doesn't make them the greatest team ever performance-wise. They had two narrow wins and only beat one top 10 team.
The 1995 Nebraska team had a much better overall performance. And Osborne was a way better head coach than Larry Coker -- which you can ignore when talking about "most talented", but not when you're talking about "greatest team". Coaches are a part of the team, too. And Osborne's game-calling would have made mince meat of Coker. |
