I personally hate the BCS. I think the NCAA should just do a playoff system to determine who are national champs. It wouldn't really matter this year because Oklahoma's gonna win it all(77-0 over Texas a&m ),even though i'm rootin for the Buckeyes. What'd you guys think of the BCS? _________________ Indians....injuries, injuries, injuries,
Browns...10-6..great season for us
Cavs....try again next year

So would a lot of fans but we'll never see one because a lot of money is made from the Bowl games.

I'm rooting for the Miami Hurricanes but any chance we had at the National Championship just went down the toilet today.

It sucks. But what can you do.
I'm probably in the minority but I think USC has a chance against Oklahoma. That should be a great contest. I hope USC wins out. |

I personally can't stand the BCS myself. It discriminates against most of the conferences in Division I football. Under the system, the winners of 4 conferences will play a BCS Bowl game every year, which only leaves room for 2 at-large bids. That automatically screws up teams like Notre Dame that have a great tradition and don't belong in any conference (albeit they're horrible this year anyway).
I actually think they can get rid of the BCS and make a playoff system for 8 or 16 teams. They should just make bowl games for the teams that don't make the tournament. It'll be like what happened to the NIT in basketball. |

I think they need a playoff. I came up with a plan that had the conference winners get automatic bids into the playoff. But that would only make it 11 teams. I think you use the BCS formula to figure the five remaining teams. Also you use the formula to determine the seedings. So using last weeks bcs standing and the current conference standing this is how it would work.
1)Oklanhoma* vs 16)N Texas*
2) USC vs 15) Utah*
3) FSU* vs 14)Boise ST*
4) Miami (FLA) vs 13) Pitt*
5) Ohio St* vs 12) Mississippi*
6) Va Tech vs 11) Miami Ohio*
7) LSU vs 10) Washington ST*
Michigan vs 9) TCU*
* = conference winner if season ended today
The ranking are based on last weeks rankings. New BCS comes out Monday. So Miami fla will not be there same with VA tech.
So you play the games in the various bowl games. _________________ Chris

The new BSC standings came out today:
TOP 5:
1)Oklahoma(no more tough games)
2)USC
3)Ohio State(#10Purdue,#5Michigan left)
4)LSU
5)Texas
I would have to say Ohio State has the toughest remaining schedule. _________________ Indians....injuries, injuries, injuries,

I disagree. They still have the Big 12 championship game and anything can happen there. Remember a few years ago when Texas beat Nebraska and they were huge favorites to win the national title. _________________ Chris

So based on what I said up there and the new BCS standings this is how I would play out for me.
1) Oklahoma* Vs 16)N Texas*
2)USC Vs 15)Utah*
3) Ohio St* vs 14) Boise St*
4)LSU Vs 13) Pitt*
5) Texas Vs 12)Mississippi*
6) TCU* Vs 11) Miami -Ohio*
7) Tenn Vs 10) FSU*
Michagan Vs 9 )Washington St.*
All sites would be played in a neutral bowl game site. Of course a lot of the conference champions
have not been decided.
* = automatic bid is season ended today These team would have won the conference _________________ Chris

Why is Ohio St. number 2? It blows my mind.....USC is clearly a better team. Ohio St. has had so many close wins..Purdue-Bowling Green, they better lose this week to Michigan or the BCS will have egg on its face. |
