Oh wait a minute, there's an actual book written by Stephen King called, "The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon"?

I thought you just made that up. Because when you said Tom Gordon, I thought you meant that pitcher. I don't know if he's still in the league. But remember he was kind of small for a pitcher, 5'10" but had a great arm. He closed for the Kansas City Royals and recently I think for the Boston Red Sox. They called him obviously, Tom "Flash" Gordon because of that amazing arm.

As I recall when he was at the top of his game, he had a superb curveball.

yes it was a real book by stephen king, and yes that is the same Tom Gordon. the book was about this girl that was obsessed with the Red Sox and Tom Gordon. and she went on a hike with her dysfunctional family one day, got lost, and used mental visions of Tom Gordon (while listening to him pitch on the radio she had) to motivate herself out of the woods.

dumb book.

Well I like Stephen King's stuff (at least when I see the T.V. movies on it, hehe) but even for him that storyline sounds dumb.

I heard Jose Canseco just signed a minor league contract with the Chicago White Sox.

He's playing for their Triple-A team in hopes of coming up and getting to the 500 home run mark. I think he's around 38 away from it. But I think he should just give it up already. He only wants to get to 500 because he thinks it'll get him into the Hall of Fame.

And I don't know, if even that will get him in, because it's obvious to a lot of people that's the only reason he's still playing.
