I frequent my own team forum often and it has a large number of pessimistic fans. Of course my team is Seattle so they have every right. But I was wondering in general, if more fans see the negatives of their team more than the positives...especially if your not a NY Yankee fan (since they have nothing to cry about).

I don't really know how to define a pessimistic fan so you will have to decide. I suppose if you find yourself predicting a loss within the first period, or find yourself saying, "here we go again," a lot, then you might be a pessimist.

depends on what our record is

in all seriousness though, im an optimist. i still watched every Cleveland Indians game two years ago when we finished 4th in the Central. I watch every Browns game I can, and well, the Cavs are just plain out awesome.

For me, I'm neither.

I prefer to be a realist and tell it like it is. I pride myself in being as honest as possble when discussing sports.

I am usually very optimistic about my team. I'd have to say the only time i ever got really down about going into a game was this year when the Giants played the Redskins after an awful opening day showing in Philadelphia. They looked so terrible that day.

I think the two extremes are a bit much. I am an optimistic person. If my team has a shot at winning, I believe they are still in it and watch. I watch when they lose, too. I'm not eternally optimistic, either. For instance, when I see things wrong with my team, I don't ignore them to be optimistic.

I'm a Seattle Seahawk fan, I've been pessimistic for the last twenty years!

I'm really not either. I went to two Browns games this season vs Pats and Chargers. I watch every game and root my heart out for all of them. I've tried to keep up the optimistic enthusiasm but it's just depressing when year in and year out your teams always loses their final game. You can always feel an impending collapse or just another bad loss coming on here in Cleveland.

That's how I feel about Seattle! Also, we probably have the most 8-8, 9-7, and 7-9 seasons out of anybody and we have the longest streak of no playoff wins. BUT, I'll be rooting again for them next year, it has to happen for them one of these years, it did for Tampa Bay.

I, the starter of this thread, am also a seahawks fan. Yea..it all makes sense now. I was just wondering if other fans were like us. We have been beaten down time and again and, quite honestly, I come to expect my team to blow a big lead....so much so that I probably wouldn't even enjoy it if they didn't.
