On the Yankees chances of repeating the World Series, I personally believe if they don't break the team up in anyway shape or form, they can. I'm still in my Hangover from the Football/Winter blues, so havn't really had a chance to check out the baseball scene, during Spring training or pre season. But I sure will be a Pulling for Ken Griffey and the Reds.

I think the Yankees definitely can and will win it all again. The signing of Mussina was big, as our pitching last year started to faulter and we could have used a guy like him.
I also hope the Reds do better, I've always liked Junior, I even met him once.

| I think that the Yankees should do awesome this year. They have one of the best rotations in the league and with the improvement of Soranio they should win it all. |

The Yankees have a great shot. Their rotation got better and they have people to replace Knoublach of needed. Plus, Atlanta hasn't gotten any better really and that would probably be my bet for the NL team to go to the World Series.

im simply ressurecting the oldest thread in the baseball forum... hehehe
but lets look at the 3 teams mentioned in this thread:
Yankees: are beginning to pull away in the AL East though it looked like for a while that the BoSox could make a run for it...maybe they still gotta shot? but with nomar gone again...??? and should the yankees hang on, will they be able to overcome the mariners in the playoffs?
Braves: arent as strong as years past and have the worst record of all the division leaders...the phillies are pushing hard and should they phillies overcome the braves, they wont even make the playoffs for the first time since forever!
Reds: well...lets not discuss what went wrong there...oh well...maybe next year... |

Well Cubs looked good tonight. They win. Giants lose to a team they shouldn't have at home (the Colorado Rockies). Cubs now up 1 and 1/2 games.
We could have a rematch of the 1998 one-game playoff between the 2 teams where the Cubs won at Wrigley Field. |
