Rick Ankiel, he's been good this spring and he has been bad this spring.

Do you think he'll come back? and if so, this year?

I think he'll come back eventually, but definitely not this year.

Rick "Wild Thing Vaughn" Ankiel

Maybe he should put on the Charlie Sheen from Major League glasses, at this point, it can't hurt.

He'll be fine in the long run; the biggest differences between Ankiel and Chuck Knoblauch are age, obviously, and the root cause. New Kids has had wildness his whole career, all between his ears. Ankiel's mechanics are shot. He'll wind up back in AAA soon, work through it, and be fine. Meanwhile Matt Morris and eventually Alan Benes tear it up in that starting rotation.

So do you guys Rick Ankiel is a lost cause now? Last, I heard he's even been wild in Triple A. And the Cards are trying to protect him so much now that they won't even answer any of the media's questions about him. Everyone in the Cardinals' organization has been instructed not to answer any questions about Ankiel.

And I still love the time that the Cardinals tried to "sneak" Ankiel in the rotation for a start and hoped no one would notice. The week before let's say a Wednesday, the Cardinals told everyone ahead of time there would be a "mysterious" starter for that day and it ended up being Ankiel. They've done everything for the guy. I don't know what else they can do.

I don't think he's a lost cause, not yet anyway.

I think that, maybe, he can work his problems out... and yes, the Cardinals have done a lot.

there is a better chance of michael jordan making a comeback in baseball than rick ankiel playing well in the majors again, at least in the next several years
