Yes, but when a guy with Clemens' control and accuracy hits a batter in the head, as far as I'm concerned it's deliberate. (The same applies to Pedro by the way, before I'm accused of pro-Red Sox/anti-Yankee prejudice!!)

Cheers.

Actually, I just remembered one funny thing I read. Before hitting Piazza in the head with a pitch, Clemens (as a Yankee) had 19 wins and 16 losses. But since he hit him in the head, Clemens has 20 wins and just 3 losses!!!! So it looks like it really got him pumped up!!

I am not saying that his throw was not intentional but, we don't know. I mean, even the most control pitchers have a baseball slip, nobody is perfect.

i unfortunately missed the whole game except for the last inning or two when everything was pretty much over with but from what i saw on ESPN it looked like a great game. i couldnt believe the stopped play to celebrate Tony and Cal that was amazing!

Tony shoulda been given at the very least a pinch-hit at-bat, but oh well.

Yeah, I think they whiffed it. Like Chris Berman said, "They went 8 2/3 on this one."
