Well, all I can say is this Mr. Owens...
WAH!
Talk about a crybaby. I didn't get the ball enough...Makes it sound like he's the only one on the 49er's...I thought this was a team effort...
When asked what he thought GB's chances were against St. Louis by the local reporters, he stated"pfft, probably none."
What a loser.
Need a hanky Owen? How about a mop...sounds like the visitor's locker room in Lambeau needs a good mopping up after crying to the reporters...hope they were wearing their galoshes...
GO PACK!!!!

Yeah Owens does whine a lot, and loves creating controversy especially with his head coach. Wouldnt surprise me to see him let go this offseason. Its a shame to see so much talent go to waste, he is definitely one of the top few recievers in football right now.
Sure...Owens is the best reciever on the team, and should get a lot of passes his way, but that also means the opposing defense will pay him a lot of attention, and if that means Stokes, or Streets, or whoever gets more open, Owens should be all for one of them getting the ball. |

| I disagree Pat. If Owens isnt happy, hes gonna make sure people know about it. Part of playing as a team, is losing as a team, and if he cant accept that, then maybe he doesnt deserve the ball. |

My theory: typically, a passing play to a big reciever will gain more yardage then a rushing play. For this reason, certain people are drawn to the position as a child, in high school, etc... in the hopes of making big plays to win games. When these people make it to the NFL, they still expect to make big plays to win games, and when that doesnt happen, they get mad.
Though this only applies to a very select few that have insane talent and a big ego, that select few includes Owens, Moss, and Keshawn. |

Well this might be long post but I agree with defska and I respectfully disagree with you, Patrick.
Actually, first off, I think Terrell Owens is the best Wide Receiver in the National Football League today. Now having said that I think he's also one of the biggest punks in the N.F.L. today (now not bigger than Randy Moss though because at least Owens gives 100 percent on every play, like Patrick said).

But Patrick, he whines about not getting enough catches time and time again. If this was the first time, I could maybe understand it but it's not. And I know because I live in the San Francisco Bay Area so I hear it all the time.

| and only getting 4 catches while being probably the most valuable guy on the team. |
But here's the thing, it's not like during the week before the game, the Packer' coaching staff sat down in preparation of the game and said, "Let's see we've got to stop Fred Beasley and Terry Jackson. But that Owens guy, let's just single cover him and let him do what he wants". No, of course not. They game planned to take Owens out of the game and they did.

| Owens says he wants the ball more, maybe not in the most tactful way, but, don't misinterpret it. He didn't say much, he wasn't whining. He sounds like it, but he really just wants to win. |
And Steve Mariucci doesn't want to try to win? And Jeff Garcia doesn't want to try to win? And Garrison Hearst doesn't want to try to win? None of them mouthed off and you don't think they're hurting as much as Owens after that loss? I saw Mariucci being interviewed after the game and he looked like he wanted to cry.
And last of all, even if Owens is right. Even if what he said is true (which it's not), what purpose exactly does it serve to mouth off about that to the media like 5 minutes after the game ended? It only makes you look like a selfish spoiled brat.

That's not going to happen because he has a long term contract with the Niners and like I said he is the best receiver in the N.F.L.

Exactly. It's no accident that Tai Streets was wide open with nobody at all around him when they got the 2-pt. conversion to tie the score at 15. Gee, the Packers couldn't have been double covering Owens that play or anything could they? |

true, but, him and Mariucci dont get along very well as far as ive heard. and despite his talent, it still wouldnt surprise me, maybe it isnt likely to happen, but if something did happen involving him i wouldnt be shocked.

i agree. although that play in particular was just sad; but, maybe owens' prescence on the field affected the CBs more than it looked. |

You know where I stand on it.
How many balls did Owens have thrown his way?
The point I am making with that is in these key situations, I feel that you should put the ball in the hands of your best player and let him take you to a win. If the ball wasn't thrown his way say 10 times, then I don't think it was enough. Even if he is double covered, he is quick, he is the best, he can beat people - the best beat people - and he should have been thrown the ball.
