I think I heard that A-rod opted out. Did he?

And who is this a good move for, A-rod, Yanks, both, or neither?

I think it was good for A-rod so now he can go to another team that was a contender and win a ring there

This was terrible for the yanks. Now they lost their best player and most exciting part of their games. The yanks are in trouble!
Mets are takin over NYC!!

Well it's obviously not good for the Yankees. They just in all likelihood lost one of the best players in baseball history in the prime of his career.

For A-Rod, it depends. If he left because of money, it was probably the wrong move. He's not going to get any more anywhere else than he would have had he extended his deal with the Yankees. If he's trying to call the Yankees' bluff than he probably guessed wrong.

Maybe in the end he just needed a change of scenery. Who knows?

A-Rod will get paid somewhere else. The Yankees aren't the only ones that can pay him. However, they may be one of the few that can sign him and still have enough money left to sign other good players, too.

The Yankees have won World Series titles without players like A-Rod. That won't be an issue. A-Rod pretty much went to sleep again in the postseason this year, too, so he didn't help the Yanks much, either.

In the end, both parties will be just fine.

Yeah, I don't think this will be disastorous for either side but I don't see how the Yanks can be helped. And if A-rod's lookin for a ring then there really is no place he should have gone. The Yanks aren't great but all the other decent teams have no money left

Yea I gotta agree with yall. If he wants money then he definitely is looking in the wrong places. No one else has the money to sign him. However for other reasons besides money I think he made a great deal. Other than money I don't see a whole lot of good coming out of playing for the Yankees.

There are other teams that can pay him right now, but nobody that can throw $30M per year at him and remain a perennial contender when he'll be making that money well into his 40's.

It's not that nobody else can pay him, it's just that they won't get anymore anywhere else than they got from the Yankees ("they" being A-Rod and Scott Boras; with Boras you never know who's working for who).

A-Rod to boston? Is it possible? As many of us know Lowe (third base for the Red Sox) is now a free agent. He had a break out season at Boston therefore they will most likely try to resign him to at least another 3-5 years. But what happens if Lowe chooses to take another route? We all know Boston is not afraid to spend money and that A-Rod costs a lot of money. But we also know Boston and Arod both want to win. All I am saying is it is a possibility keep an ear out eventhough it may be unlikely.
I am also kind of curios if the mets will think about picking him up. They already talked to Wright about next year possibilities will they pay for Arod you know they are not afraid to spend?
All the rumors that I have heard point to the Dogers or Angels as most likely candidates for one of the greatest baseball players ever.

The Red Sox claim that they want to re-sign Lowell. A-Rod could end up with the Mets, but I don't think I would move Wright to a different position. But, who knows?
