The Giants are on the short list of potential destinations for A-Rod, who opted out of the final three years of his Yankees contract, walking away from $72 million. Other possible suitors include the Angels, Dodgers, Mets, Cubs, Red Sox and perhaps the Tigers.

I don't think that the Cubs are as deep into the sweepstakes as others make them out to be. They spent a good chunk of money on Zambrano, and they have other good players, like Soriano and Ramirez. I am not so sure they have the money to sign him now.

I would to see the Cubs sign A-rod but with points you made and the owner ship pending. I probably won't happen

I dont think even the cubs have enough money because they didn't even want carlos to have that much let alone signing this guy, i cant see that happening. And unfortunatly the mets don't have enough so I think hes going to the marlins because I believe they have a lot of available money.

I would be suprised if the Marlins signed him. I think the East Coast is the right direction. I am surprised the Yankees are even talking with him.

Yeah, yesterday was a super weird day. It looks like he'll be back in New York.
