Awesome game tonight people. Dikembe Mutumbo didn't really slow down Shaq. Shaq still got 40 points and 24 rebounds, the same kind of numbers he got in the Sacramento series but Dikembe was big with his 5 blocked shots and 16 rebounds.
And at least he was better than Matt Geiger defensively. Geiger was just so soft. Not even challenging and fouling Shaq when he had the chance. Shaq had too many easy buckets on Geiger in the 3rd Quarter. And if he fouled out sooner than he did, who cares. Todd Macculloch could have done the same thing.
At least maybe the Lakers can feel some doubt about themselves now. Down for the first time this post season and last post season. Maybe we'll actually have a series after all.
And what a performance tonight by Allen Iverson! 48 points! What was that? Like the 6th best performance in N.B.A. Finals history. And you know between the great defensive job that Kobe Bryant and Tyronne Lue did on him and his various little injuries you know Iverson will be working hard for his points all series long.

I was about to get mad at Larry Brown too because the Sixers opened the game up with a little lead and then the Lakers went on something like a 10 to 0 run to take a 16 to 4 lead.
And Brown didn't call a timeout when I thought he should have to stop the Lakers' momentum. I knew what he was doing too. He was waiting for the T.V. timeout at the under 7 minute mark but that was risky because the Lakers didn't look rusty at the start at all and if you wait too long before getting a timeout you risk the chance of the Lakers just blowing you out in the 1st Quarter and essentially ending the game.
Especially, since you are the underdog and nobody thinks you have a chance. If the Lakers went out to an insurmountable lead and blew Philadelphia out in Game 1, that could have set the whole tone for the series and could have had the Sixers thinking that they don't belong on the same floor as the Lakers and the Lakers could have gone on to the sweep but luckily the Lakers' rust finally did come back later and the Sixers picked it up. |

Good, I won't have to pack right away...
Shaq was dominant once more. 19 rebounds and 28 points!
